Tigbauan, Iloilo

Tigbauan (Filipino: Bayan ng Tigbauan, Hiligaynon: Sangguniang Bayan Tigbauan ) is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Iloilo on Panay Island in the Philippines. It has 58 814 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 52 barangays. It belongs to the second class of income communities in the Philippines and is described as partly urban.

Tigbauan is located on the south coast of Panay Island, on the Gulf of Panay. The capital of the province, Iloilo City is located about 30 km southeast of the community and can be reached from there by bus or jeepney. The neighboring municipalities are Guimbal and Tubungan in the West, Oton in the east, Leon in the north.
