Timur Shah Durrani

Timur Shah Durrani (* 1748 in Mashhad, Khorasan, † May 18, 1793 in Kabul ) was the second son of Ahmad Shah Durrani and the second king of the Pashtun Durrani dynasty that briefly ruled the second largest Islamic empire that time. From the Empire is now Afghanistan emerged. The name Afghanistan was the first time in 1801. On October 16, 1772 Timur followed his father to the throne. Reluctantly, he was accepted by the clan leaders. His reign lasted until his death and was plagued by civil wars. The capital was moved from Kandahar to Kabul.

Timur Shah quickly came to power over the country. He married a daughter of the Mughal Emperor Alamgir II (1699-1759), which he received as a dowry Sirhind and later by his father as regent over Punjab, Kashmir and Sirhind (1757 ) was made. These areas he reigned one year from May 1757 to April 1758, but it is not reached, to establish law and order. Its capital was Lahore, his vizier General Jahan Khan.

Timur Shah died in 1793. Was succeeded by his fifth son Zaman Shah as on the throne.
