Tour de l'Avenir

The Tour de l' Avenir ( fr., dt about " Tour of the Future" ) is a stage race for cyclists in France.

In 1961, for the first time discharged cycle race was initially the "Tour de France amateur ." Between 1972 and 1978, the event was called Trophée Peugeot de l'Avenir. Since 1981, the race "Open" was held, so that professionals were allowed to participate. It was between 1986 and 1990 Tour de la CEE (Eng. " tour of the European Community").

In 1992, the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO ) took over the organization. Participants were allowed to professionals and amateurs under the age of 25 years. Since 2007, the race is part of the series UCI Under 23 Nations Cup. From the edition of the year 2012, the International Cycling Union UCI uses the race for the training of competition judges ( " Commissioners " ), Radio Tour speakers, info motorcyclists and other persons involved in the organization of cycling. The organization of the Tour de l' Avenir passes to the discharge of the Year 2012 on Alpe Vélo, the organizer of the race, the Tour de l' Ain. The race will however continue to be supported financially and logistically by the ASO.
