Triumph TR3 ( 1955-1957 )

The Triumph TR3 was produced from 1955 to 1962, the British manufacturer Triumph Roadster. The TR3 was released in September 1955. From him until 1957 13,377 units were built. The TR3A was provided with a facelift introduced in the same year. Its production started with 58 236 copies until 1962. Parallel to the newly released TR4 of TR3B was sold in the U.S.. He had blanking plates and a more powerful engine with 100 hp. From him 3,331 units were built.

The TR3 was revised in 1957. First of damaging the appearance was modified. Especially for the American market, the B version of the TR3 was built. For American drivers, the new TR 4 was designed to be comfortable. For this model around 2000 chassis were (all starting with the serial numbers with the abbreviation TCF) taken as a basis, provided with the engine and the transmission of the TR4 and the finishes black, white, red, or " Powder Blue" painted shipped to the U.S.. Total 3331 chassis were produced by TR3B. The first 500 given TR3 engines and thus became TR3B with TSF chassis numbers. All TR3B models had fully synchronized gearbox. All other chassis numbers started with TCF and were equipped with the 2198 cc engine of the TR4.

A total of about 300 chassis from TR3A and TR3B came with axles and drive trains without body to Italy and there completed the triumph Italia.
