Trzin

Trzin ( German Tersain ) is a municipality in Upper Carniola in Slovenia. The oldest written mention Trzins dates from 1273rd It is a document of the German Order of Knights, were regulated in the claims to ownership of lands. Trzin was then called Direzin.

Trzin is also the birthplace of the Slovene and Yugoslav banker, politician and publicist Ivan Hribar.

Location and population

The municipality has 3,385 inhabitants and is located Trzin at an altitude of 315 m. Trzin is located northeast of the capital Ljubljana. Trzin is the second smallest municipality in Slovenia.
