Tsushima (Aichi)
Tsushima (Japanese津 岛 市, -shi) is a city located in Aichi Prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.
Geography
Tsushima is located west of Nagoya.
History
The territory of the present town of Tsushima has been inhabited for at least 1,000 years, with Tsushima has evolved primarily as a suburban temple to Tsushima Shrine. In the 20th century Tsushima was a significant Stadtort the textile industry. The management unit Tsushima was founded in 1871 as a village, where 1889 district town ( Machi ) and on 1 March 1947 independent city (shi). 1925, 1955 and 1956 were part of the surrounding villages Saori, Kamori and Eiwa incorporated.
