Usmate Velate

Usmate Velate is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 10,108 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. The community is located about 10 kilometers northeast of Monza and about 24 km northeast of Milan. It is immediately adjacent to the province of Lecco.

History

The village Usmate should correspond to the ancient settlement Uocimate while Velates first mention dates to the year 920.

Traffic

In Usmate Velate the Autostrada A51, the north-eastern ring road of Milan goes on in the former State Road 342dir ( Briantea ), which was downgraded now the provincial road. In the neighboring village of Carnate closest train station Carnate - Usmate at ranges from Monza to Lecco, and of Seregno to Bergamo. There is also the S8 S-Bahn connection to Milan.
