Villasanta

Villa Santa is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 13,712 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. The community is located approximately 3.5 kilometers northeast of Monza and about 18 km northeast of Milan. In the broadest sense, the municipality nor the Po Valley can be attributed. The municipality is located on the eastern edge of the Parco della Valle del Lambro. Just to the west flows the Lambro.

History

The original foundations of the church dedicated to St. Anastasia are detectable since 768. Presumably, the origin can be dated back even further, so that as early as 500 there was a Gottesbau.

1929, the district of La Santa was released from the territory of the city of Monza and connected to Villa San Fiorano.

Traffic

Villa Santa is within the dense road network of Monza and Milan. To Autostrada A51 is only 5 kilometers. At the railway Villa Santa is a railway station on the non-electrified route from Monza to Molteno tethered (as part of the Milan- Lecco) since 1911. The line is also provided as part of the S -Bahn Milan (S 7).
