Walcourt is a Belgian municipality in the district Philippeville the province of Namur.

The municipality consists of the villages next to Walcourt Berzée, Castillon, Chastrès, Clermont, Fontenelle, Fraire, Gourdinne, Laneffe, Pry, Rognée, Somzée, Tarcienne, Thy- le -Château, Vogenée and Yves- Gomezée.

Twinning

Since 1969, a partnership with the Schleswig-Holstein town of Ratzeburg.

Historic Event

On August 25, 1689 troops of the Netherlands and England were victorious in the vicinity of the city over the army of Louis XIV of France at the Battle of Walcourt.
