Hammer pond lies in the planning region Oberpfalz -Nord.

History

Beckendorf, today Weiherhammer, belonged to the Wittelsbach duchy of Neuburg -Sulzbach and his court pastures; since 1777 the area was part of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the municipality Etzenricht the Beckendorf was incorporated. 1934 Beckendorf was renamed after the smelter since 1717 based at the site in Weiherhammer and received on February 1, 1952, the municipal autonomy.

Incorporations

Hammer pond is an old industrial site. Main employer in Weiherhammer are BHS Corrugated (corrugated cardboard layers ) and the company Pilkington ( flat glass). In addition, in Weiherhammer / Kalkhäusl exists a landfill.
