Willingen, Rhineland-Palatinate

Willingen is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Rennerod.

Geographical location

The community lies in the Westerwald between Limburg and victories at the border of the Land Hessen. In the village rises the Nister, which opens into the victory after 64 km. To place a part of the highest mountain of the Westerwald, the Fuchskaute.

History

The town was first mentioned as Wildungen documented in 1413.

The Municipal Council in Willingen consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

The coat of arms description reads: " sign out sheet divided by dividing the main shield of green and gold, the top two golden arnica flowers, below a rising blue wave stand, set on the top of a black goldgefugtes Vault".
