Munchhausen, Bas-Rhin

Munchhausen (also Munchhouse, German Munchausen ) is a commune with 729 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region.

Geography

Munchhausen is located just north of the confluence of the Sauer in the Rhine between Lauterbourg and Seltz. There is an old fishing village, whose coat of arms therefore also shows a fish. Until early 2000, residents were still - as the last on the Rhine in France - the fishing profession after.
