Wingen, Bas-Rhin
Wingen is a commune in Alsace in the department of Bas- Rhin. It is located in the arrondissement of Wissembourg and there in the same canton.
The village is surrounded by forest, which covers about three-quarters of the community area. It was once part as the neighboring Climbach to rule the High Castle. A little to the north is the village of Kleinwingen (French Petit Wingen or els. Neudörfel ). The area around Wingen is part of the Regional Park of the Northern Vosges, which forms a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO together with the adjacent Palatine Forest.
