Geographical Location

New Wulmstorf extends between Hamburg in the east, the Old Country to the north, the Harburg low mountain in the southeast, Buchholz in der Geest North Heath and the south and Buxtehude in the West. New Wulmstorf is located in the metropolitan region of Hamburg. The difference in elevation extends mainly north-south from -0.5 m to 111.9 m above sea level. The district of New Wulmstorf is connected to the Hamburg telephone network.

Expansion of the municipal district

Northernmost part of municipality is Rübke, located in the Old Moor belt land and is dominated by orchards. From the station to the federal road 73 on the Geesthang extend the extensive residential areas of New Wulmstorf, the center of the community. There are City Hall and the secondary schools (high school, secondary school and junior high school ). To the west is the bypass B3n. To the south lie the districts Wulmstorf Daerstorf, Elstorf with Ardestorf and Bach Heath, Schwiederstorf and Rade with Mienenbuttel and Ohlenbüttel.

History

The later eingemeindeten southern villages are hundreds of years old. The Elstorfer Nicolai church dates from around 1200. The district Neu Wulmstorf was the road Harburg- Buxtehude (now B 73), however, established only in 1835 by the north Daerstorfer peasants Peter Lohmann and was formerly Voss Husen (Fuchs Hausen ). A rail link has been around since 1904.

After World War II, large residential areas were established for displaced south of the highway. The first habitable cellars originated in 1949 on the former Wehrmacht terrain. As this rose only slightly from the ground and were provided with notdürfigen roofs, called this first settlement Mole Hausen.
