Palm Shores is a city in Brevard County in the U.S. state of Florida with a population of 900 (as of 2010).

Geography

Palm Shores is directly adjacent to the city of Melbourne and is located approximately 35 km south of Titusville and about 80 km southeast of Orlando.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 900 inhabitants distributed to 443 households. The population density was 692.3 inh. / Km ². 84.4 % of the population were white, 6.8% African American, 0.1% Native American and 2.8 % Asian Americans. 1.2% were members of other ethnic groups and 4.7% of different ethnicities. 7.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 28.7 % of all households lived in 26.2 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 61.7 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.27 persons and the average family size is 2.91 people.

21.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 18.3% were 20-39 years old, 35.4% were 40-59 years old and 24.8 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 47 years. 49.6 % of the population were male and 50.4 % female.

The average annual income was $ 62,083, while 11.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 96.61 % of the population spoke Spanish 2.80% and 0.59 % spoke Thai.
