South Patrick Shores is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Brevard County in the U.S. state of Florida with 5,875 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

South Patrick Shores is located between the Banana River and the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast of Florida. The CDP is located approximately 40 km south of Titusville and about 90 km east of Orlando. He is, 404 and 513 crosses or touches of the Florida State Roads A1A.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 5,875 inhabitants distributed to 2,939 households. The population density was 1,587.8 inh. / Km ². 92.8 % of the population were white, 1.4% African American, 0.5% Native American and 2.3% Asian Americans. 1.0% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.1% in different ethnic groups. 5.1% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 35.1 % of all households lived in 22.1 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 64.3 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.23 persons and the average family size is 2.74 people.

19.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 18.8% were 20-39 years old, 33.6 % were 40-59 years old and 28.3 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 49 years. 49.9 % of the population were male and 50.1 % female.

The average annual income was $ 56,061, while 13.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 94.31 % of the population spoke Spanish 3.04% and 2.65 % had a different mother tongue.
