SM U 124

Commissioning

U 124 was given on 27 May 1916 in contract, expired on March 28, 1918 at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg from the stack and was put into service on 13 July 1918. The boat was assigned to the First U- Flotilla in Helgoland and Brunsbuttel. First and only commander was Lieutenant Rolf Carls - later Admiral in the Navy.

U 124 led during the First World War by any company and therefore could sink or damage any ship.

Whereabouts

On November 13, 1918 U 124 was first in Karlskrona (Sweden) interned. On 1 December 1918, the extradition to the United Kingdom followed. 1922, the boat was scrapped in Swansea (Wales).
