17th Golden Raspberry Awards
The Golden Raspberry Awards 1997 ( 17th Annual Razzie Awards) was awarded on March 23, 1997, the eve of the Academy Awards at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
The film Striptease received six Golden Raspberries, including the award for the worst movie. Previously Striptease had been most frequently nominated.
Unique first and still the Joe Eszterhas Award was awarded for the film with the worst writer who has still grossed more than 100 million U.S. dollars. Winners were Michael Crichton and Anne- Marie Martin for her screenplay for the disaster movie Twister.
