The 18th European Film Awards was presented on 3 December 2005 in Berlin. Main winner was the thriller Caché by the Austrian Michael Haneke four awards. German winners were the two award-winning Julia Jentsch, the cinematographer Franz Lustig and director Marc Rothemund, who won the audience award.
