1971 CONCACAF Championship
The CONCACAF Nations Cup 1971 was the fifth playout of the continental championship in football for North, Central America and the Caribbean was held from 20 November to 5 December in Trinidad and Tobago instead. It was played exclusively in the capital Port of Spain. The six participants played a simple League round of FFA from the tournament winner.

The Netherlands Antilles withdrew.
2nd round
Cuba and Suriname, it refused to play against Haiti, the CONCACAF awarded the two places for the final round of Haiti and Cuba.

El Salvador withdrew because of the football war.
