2001–02 UEFA Women's Cup

The UEFA Women's Champions League 2001/ 02 was the first sending a European Champion competition for women's football clubs. First winner was the German Champion 1st FFC Frankfurt, who won by a 2-0 win against the Swedish champions Umea IK. The representatives from Switzerland and Austria already eliminated from the first round.

Preliminary round

The participants were divided into eight groups. A team in the group hosted the tournament. The eight group winners progress to the quarter -finals.

Tournament in Frankfurt am Main ( Germany ).

Tournament in Ayr (Scotland). Originally the tournament in Toulouse ( France), was warden discharged. Due to the explosion in a factory, the stadium was severely damaged in Toulouse.
