2005 ICC Trophy

The ICC Trophy 2005 was the qualifying tournament of the non-test nations for the Cricket World Cup 2007. The tournament was held between 1 and 13 July, 2005 in Ireland. Winner was Scotland, which in the final against hosts Ireland was able to prevail by 47 runs. Furthermore, Canada, Bermuda and the Netherlands qualified for the World Cup. The five qualified received an additional ODI status for the years 2006 to 2009.

Format

First, two preliminary groups were formed of six teams, in which each competing against each. The respective group winners and second of the two groups qualified for the semi-finals and were qualified for the Cricket World Cup 2007. The third and fourth group played for the fifth to eighth place and the group Fifth and last to the ninth to twelfth place. All placements were played.
