2010 Tour de France, Stage 11 to Stage 20#Stage 14

The 14th stage of the 2010 Tour de France on July 18, led over 184.5 km from Revel according to Ax- 3 Domaines. On this mountain stage, there were two sprints and two climbs, one of the honorary category, as well as one of the first category. After the abandonment of pure Taaramäe 175 of the 198 registered participants were at the start.

Race course

After almost three kilometers neutral ride the real start was reached at 12:07 clock. Christian Knees was the first driver who attempted to settle, he joined eleven other riders on, and shortly afterwards three more. Most of the outliers were made shortly thereafter, it remained a group of five consisting of Geraint Thomas, David Zabriskie, Pavel Brutt, José Iván Gutiérrez and Amaël Moinard left. The group of four was then followed by Benoît Vaugrenard, Christophe Riblon, Jurgen Van De Walle, Pierre Rolland and Stéphane Augé. As the field reached the final climb, Alexander Vinokourov took over the pace of work, Roman Kreuziger and Ivan Basso could not follow. Also Cunego was Sastre now no longer follow.
