2012–13 Top 14 season

The 2012/13 season was the 114th staging of the French rugby union championship. It included 14 teams in the top league top 14 and 16 teams in the second highest league Pro D2.

Top 14

The regular season of the top 14 had 26 game days (one forward and reverse round). She began by 17 August 2012 and lasted until May 4, 2013., The top two teams qualified directly for the semifinals and met the winners of the Barragespiele, which were held between the third - to sixth-placed. The semi-final winners met on June 1, 2013 to each other in the final and played in the Stade de France for the championship trophy Bouclier de Brennus. The title won for the fourth time Castres Olympique, which prevailed against RC Toulon. The two last-place teams, the SU Agen and Stade Montois had to descend into the Pro D2.

Pro D2

The regular season of the Pro D2 comprised 30 game days (one forward and reverse round). It began on 25 August 2012 and lasted until May 8, 2013., The highest-ranked team, the U.S. Oyonnax, rose directly. The teams ranked 2-5 denied a playoff for the second promotion place, to which the CA Brive could secure on 19 May 2013. Two teams had to dismount 1, the Pays d' Aix RC and RC Massy Essonne in the amateur league Fédérale.
