Roman Empire

  • September 3: The Christian stonemason Marinus draws on Mount Titano and founded there an independent Christian community. Since it is relatively unknown, it can exist undisturbed by the Roman central authority. The September 3, 301 is considered the founding date of the independent republic of San Marino.

Imperial China

  • February 3: The Regent of the insane Chinese Emperor Jin Huidi, Sima Lun, lets settle the emperor and executed his crown prince Sima Zang. He then declares himself emperor.
  • June 8: rebels, who opposed the self-proclaimed Emperor Sima Lun, the capital Luoyang and forcing conquer the usurper to poison himself.

Economy

  • The Roman Emperor Diocletian issues the maximum price edict. Exceeding the maximum prices of various products and services can be punished by death. The prices are given as denarii communes ( Rechnungsdenare ) - not conforming to the denarii of the early imperial period. The previously introduced Follis is set on 1 September with 25 denarii communes.
