Alexandria Warthogs

The Alexandria Warthogs were an American ice hockey team from Alexandria, Louisiana. The team played from 1998 to 2000 in the Western Professional Hockey League.

History

The Alexandria Warthogs were established in 1998 as a franchise of the Western Professional Hockey League. Your first season, the 1998/99 season, they shut on the fifth and last place thus the WPHL East Division. In 69 games, the team won only 25 times, after which coach Rod Davidson was replaced for the following season by Mike Zruna. Under Zruna the team deteriorated even compared to last year and won the spiked at two games 1999/2000 season only 21 games and finished the season with 52 points in last place in their division. Then, the management decided to take the franchise out of the game operation of the WPHL and to dissolve it after only two years, in each of which the playoffs were missed significantly as a result of failure.
