Alfred Görnemann

Alfred Görnemann ( born September 1, 1877 in Berlin, † October 11, 1903 in Dresden ) was a German racing cyclist.

Alfred Görnemann drove for many years as an amateur rail and road races until 1903 he was a professional. In 1901 he won the voyage Hamburg- Berlin. In 1902 he became world champion of amateur stayer at the Track World Championships at the Velodrome Friedenau. In addition, he was still working as a salesman in his father's company.

As a professional Görnemann was little pursued by fortune; his bad luck was notorious. On October 11, 1903, he suffered a fatal accident at the 100 -km driving in Dresden when he tried to overtake its competitors Thaddeus Robl.
