Andrei Kostitsyn

Andrej Alehawitsch Kaszizyn (White Russian Андрэй Алегавіч Касціцын, Russian Андрей Олегович Костицын / Andrei Olegovich Kostizyn; born February 3, 1985 in Nawapolazk, Byelorussian SSR) is a Belarusian professional ice hockey since September 2012 when HC Traktor Chelyabinsk in the Kontinental Hockey League contract stands. His younger brother Syarhey is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Andrej Kaszizyn began his career as a hockey player with Polimir Nawapolazk, for which he was active until 2002, in the East European Hockey League, as well as the Belarusian Extraliga. Then the attacker spent two years playing in the Russian Super League for the HK CSKA Moscow. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 in the first round as a whole tenth player of the Montreal Canadiens. After it during the lockout in the 2004/05 season already for their farm team, the Hamilton Bulldogs had from the American Hockey League game, gave the White Russian in the 2005 /06 his debut for the Canadiens in the National Hockey League.

On 27 March 2012, a few hours before the trade deadline, the Habs transferred him in exchange for a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 and a performance-based Fifth round suffrage in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the Nashville Predators. In the summer of 2012, he was with the Predators not agree on a new contract and therefore switched in September to return to Europe, where he was obliged by HC Traktor Chelyabinsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.

Internationally

For Belarus Kaszizyn participated in the U18 Junior B World Cup 2001 and the U18 World Junior Championships in 2000, 2002 and 2003 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of Belarus at the U20 World Junior Championships in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005, the U20 Junior B World Cup 2004, the B- World Cup 2004 and the World Championships in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2011.
