Anthony Aquino

Anthony Aquino ( born August 1, 1982 in Mississauga, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey Italo- player who has a contract with HC Valpellice in the Italian Serie A1 since September 2012. His brother Luciano is also a professional hockey player.

Career

The 1.82 m tall striker began his career in the team of Merrimack College in league operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as well as the Oshawa Generals in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League before he of as 92 in the third round at the NHL Entry Draft 2001 the Dallas Stars has been selected.

However, Aquino was never in the NHL squad of stars and just graduated a few games with the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League. In 2004 he finally moved to Ritten Sport in the Serie A1. After a year-long trip to the Adler Mannheim in the DEL Season 2005/ 06 of the Italo - Canadians finally returned to Italy, where he stood for the HC Val Pusteria in the season 2006 /07 on the ice. In 2007 he moved to league rivals SG Pontebba. In the summer of 2009, Aquino joined the HC Valpellice, where his contract was extended in the following summer. In Valpellice he played with his brother Luciano in a team. In early July 2011, he received a contract with Grenoble Métropole Hockey 38 from the French Ligue Magnus. In the summer of 2012, he signed with HC Innsbruck in the EBEL, where he was, however, dismissed before start of the season and then returned to the HC Valpellice.

Internationally

Aquino was in the squad of the Italian national team in the qualifiers for the Olympic Winter Games 2010. In three games, he was successful with a goal, but Italy did not manage to qualify for the tournament.
