Anzhu Islands

As Anschuinseln (Russian Острова Анжу, scientific transliteration Ostrova to, Yakut арыылара Анжу, Anzhu aryylara ) the central group of islands belonging to Russia Siberian Islands is called.

The main island is Kotelny ( Остров Котельный ), with 11,665 km ² the largest island of the New Siberian Islands, the country over the Bunge ( 6200 km ²) case by case basis with the Faddejewski Island ( Остров Фаддеевский 5,300 km ²) connected. In the north of Anschuinseln long been suspected phantom island " Sannikov Land", Gedenstrom suspected north of the archipelago a driveway in an ice-free zone of the Arctic Ocean.
