Auckland Rugby Football Union

The Auckland Rugby Football Union ( ARFU ) is the national rugby union Provincial Association for the Greater Auckland on the North Island of New Zealand. The association and jersey colors are blue and white. The selection team of the Association in the national provincial championship ITM Cup bear its home matches at Eden Park and is most successful club of the competition.

The association was founded in 1883 and is one of the most prestigious in the country. It consists of 20 clubs who play for the Auckland Club Rugby Championship. Auckland has a record of 152 victories statistics in Ranfurly Shield, a total of 193 games. In addition, Auckland has won the championship 15 times during the 30 years in which the National Provincial Championship and Air New Zealand Cup were played ( predecessor of the ITM Cup ).

Players from Auckland provide a part of the team blues that plays in the international Super Rugby championship. For this reason, the home games of the Blues will also be held in Auckland. Auckland has more National Player of the All Blacks produced than any other province.

The Auckland province has a women's team called Auckland Storm. The youth team are the Secondary School Girls.
