Bachatsky

Batschatski (Russian Бачатский ) is an urban-type settlement in Kemerovo Oblast (Russia) with 14 402 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The settlement is located on the eastern flank of the Salairrückens in the west of the Kuznetsk Basin, about 120 km as the crow south of Oblasthauptstadt Kemerovo, on a ridge between the river Bolshoi Batschat ( Big Batschat ) and Maly Batschat ( Small Batschat ), which unite a little later to Batschat, a left tributary of the Inja.

Batschatski part of the city and county Belovo located 20 km south-west of the city center Belovo.

History

The town originated as a mining camp in connection with the development of a coal deposit from 1949. Located east of the settlement in the northwest -southeast direction now has more than 10 kilometers extending mining got its name as the location to the nearby rivers.

1954 Batschatski received the status of an urban-type settlement.

Economy and infrastructure

Townscape end company is the coal mining Batschatski, which is now operated by the AG ( OAO ) Kusbassrasresugol. In 2008 more than 9.5 million tons of coal were mined, whereby the mining company is the second largest (after Taldinski in the eastern part of the Kiss bass) and one of the largest coal surface mines in Russia.

The nearest railway stations are Ulus and Botschaty along the route Novosibirsk - Novokuznetsk and Rasjesd 20 km to the branch line Belovo - Guryevsk. To the north of the settlement of the regional road runs after Belovo Guryevsk and wages.
