Tashtagol
Taschtagol (Russian Таштагол ) is a city in Kemerovo Oblast (Russia) with 23,134 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located in the people after the Shors mountain Shoria ( Gornaja Schoria ) called mountain country south of the Kuzbass, about 150 km south of Novokuznetsk, Riverfront Kondoma. The climate is continental.
The city is the administrative center of the Taschtagol Rajons same name.
Taschtagol since 1940 over a railway line and a parallel road on Kaltan and Ossinniki connected with Novokuznetsk.
History
Taschtagol was created in 1939 as a settlement at the local iron ore mine. The place name is derived from the Turkic -Mongolian words for stony valley or ravine. In 1963, the site of a town.

Culture and sights
In Taschtagol there is a municipal museum with an attached Museum of Ethnography and Natural Mountain Scho Riens ( Музей этнографии и природы Горной Шории ).
Economy
The extraction of iron ore for the steel mills of the Kuzbass determines the economy of Taschtagol and environment. There are also companies in the building materials industry.
