Myski

Myski (Russian Мыски ) is a city in Kemerovo Oblast (Russia) with 43 ​​038 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located in the southeastern part of the Kuzbass, about 50 kilometers east of Novokuznetsk, Riverfront Mras -Su near its confluence with the Tom. The climate is continental.

The city is the Oblast Myski administratively subordinated directly. The city's 14 villages under its total of 2613 inhabitants, so that the total population of the administrative unit " city Myski " is 44 520 (calculated 2009).

History

Myski was built around 1826 from a Shor settlement on the headland (Russian мыс / mys ) at the mouth of the Mrassu into Tom. The place was also called Myssowskaja ( Мысовская ) or Berjosowy Mys ( Берёзовый Мыс ). In 1956 he received city rights.
