Geography

Bad Häring is between Wörgl and Kufstein, on a high plateau above the Inn Valley at the foot of Pölven. The center of the former miners' village is surrounded by several hamlets.

History

Numerous magnificent farms attest to the agrarian tradition. From the second half of the 18th century to 1954 Brown coal was mined. Since 1854 marl and limestone is extracted for cement production at quarries of Pölven.

1951 a strong source of sulfur was found that promoted health tourism. Especially disorders and musculoskeletal and rheumatic diseases of the joints and blood vessels and spinal injuries are treated. Since 1965 Häring is dubbed "the Bad".

Bad Häring is since 1996 the first Tyrolean "spa resort" (no health resort ). By decision of the Office of the Tyrolean provincial government, the municipality of Bad Häring was recognized by the Provincial Government of Tyrol as a spa. The name of the spa " baths spa resort (sulfur spa )" was determined. In addition to the baths, a cryotherapy chamber is operated.

Economy

Tourism in the two seasonal tourist is of primary importance economically.

The rehabilitation center Häring General Accident Insurance Institution was opened in 1973 and renovated and remodeled 2005-2011.

Culture and sights

  • The parish church of St. John the Baptist was first documented in 1397, is the core late Gothic and Baroque style in 1732.
  • The Anthony Chapel dates from the year 1708.

The municipality is a member of the Climate Alliance Tyrol.
