The Bahraini Dinar (Arabic دينار بحريني, DMG Bahraini Dinar ) is the currency of Bahrain. The Dinar is divided into 1000 fils. Inflation in 2006 was 3.5 percent, the ISO 4217 code is BHD.

The dinar replaced the 1965 Gulf rupee with a ratio of 10 rupees = 1 dinar from 1966-1973 and was also in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in use. Today is the Bahraini Dinar currency unit per the second most valuable currency Kuwaiti dinar after the world. Since 2001, the dinar has been officially tied to the rate of the U.S. dollar (1 USD = 0.376 BHD ). Are currently being considered to replace the dinar by a common currency of the Gulf States.

In circulation are coins of 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 fils. The 1 fils coin formerly used was taken out of circulation. In addition, the Bank of Bahrain are banknotes in denominations of ½, 1, 5, 10 and 20 dinars.
