Bell 206
The Bell 206 is a family of U.S. helicopter manufacturer Bell Helicopter. The Bell 206 and its further developments are still the most commercially successful civil helicopter. The Bell 206L Long Ranger is a further development of the Bell 206B JetRanger.
History
First prototypes were manufactured in 1963, the military version Bell OH -58 was a standard helicopter of the U.S. Army. In the civil market, there was the Bell 206 since 1967. The Bell 206L made its first flight on 11 September 1974. Unlike the " JetRanger " the cab was lengthened by 64 cm (indicated by the three instead of two side windows ) and a damping system installed against the vibration in flight. The Bell 206L -3 ST has in addition a second turbine that comes during takeoff and landing as well as emergency used.
Since 1980 206 Texas Ranger is also offered a military version of the Bell, for which, however, in contrast to the Bell 206B JetRanger been found yet a customer.
