Benjamin Conz

Benjamin Conz (* September 13, 1991 ) is a Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since 2012 in Fribourg- Gottéron under contract.

Career

Benjamin Conz comes from the offspring of HC Ajoie, but played from 2007 for the elite A- Juniors of HC Servette Genève. In parallel, he came to some assignments with the U20 national team that took part in the National League B. In the 2008 /09 season he made his debut for Servette in the National League A and completed a total of 21 games in which he reached a Gegentorschnitt of 2.05 and a catch quota of 90.6 %. At the same time he was playing for the Swiss U-20 selection in the NLB.

In the summer of 2009, his contract was extended at Servette until 2013, with him, a minimum number of games has been assured. Since the beginning of the following season Tobias Stephan was hired as the new goalkeeper, Conz was loaned to the SCL Tigers in October 2009.

Previously, he had also come to use in Lausanne Hockey Club in the National League B. In the 2011/12 season out Conz moved on loan to HC Lugano. In March 2012, he was equipped by Fribourg- Gottéron with a three-year contract after negotiations on a contract extension with the previous goalkeeper Cristobal Huet had failed.

Internationally

In the years 2008 and 2009 Conz participated with the U18 national team of Switzerland at the World Junior Championship.

Since 2009 Conz is goalkeeper of the Swiss U20 national team and reached the semifinals of the U20 World Cup in 2010. According Jousting, he was awarded as the best goalkeeper and appointed to the All- Star team of the tournament.
