Bernd Schröder

Bernd Schröder ( born July 22, 1942 in Lübeck- Travemünde ) is a German football coach and engineer. Schroeder has been training since 1971 with five year hiatus ( 1992-1997 ) multiple GDR and German champions Turbine Potsdam and was national coach of the East German women's football team. With twelve league titles, three Cup wins and two European Cup victories, he is one of the most successful football coach in Germany.

Career

Schroeder grew up in the Erzgebirge. He studied mining sciences at the Mining Academy Freiberg and worked for three decades in the executive position of department head. At times, he led 200 workers at VEB energy supply Potsdam (EPP ) ( after 1990 märkische energy AG ( MEVAG ), to E.ON today ).

During the establishment of a section for women's football in the BSG Turbine Potsdam, the carrier was operating the EPP, he was asked about it, to take over as coach next work. He had until this time, no trained crew. In the 1960s, Bernd Schröder was active in the reserve teams of the 1st FC Lok Leipzig as a goalkeeper.

Between 1981 and 1989 he won with the team six times the title of the GDR champion (1981, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1989), he was twice runner-up (1984, 1988). In the summer of 1989, Schröder was also coach of the newly formed East German women 's national soccer team, but only one match played, which was lost on 9 May 1990 against Czechoslovakia 0-3.

Between 1992 and 1997 Schroder worked for Turbine Potsdam as a manager before he again took over as coach. Bernd Schröder is now the last East German football coach, who still continue to be serviced the same club with a short interruption. Schröder became involved with his team of trainers from 1 FFC Turbine Potsdam during the football World Cup 2011 Women for the team home field advantage in the Discover Football tournament in Berlin.

Meanwhile Schröder has become interesting for enterprises and gives lectures about his leadership philosophy. Since April 2013 he is with his club 1 FFC Turbine Potsdam at the ECA Women's Football Committee ( WFC ) of the European Club Association.
