Besana in Brianza

Besana in Brianza is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 15,583 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. The village is located about 15 kilometers north of Monza and about 18 kilometers southwest of Lecco. Since 1971, the city the title of Città leads due to Presidential Decree (city). The municipality borders the province of Lecco.

History

About the location is already an inscription which can be dated to the year 69 AD and was found in the district of Valle Guidino, information. In the Middle Ages the area was under the archbishop of Milan.
