Breitenbach am Inn is a town with 3330 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Kufstein, Tirol, Austria. The municipality is located in the judicial district of rats mountain. With 37.99 km ², it is geographically one of the largest municipalities of the district.

The Breitenbach is within its limits since the mid -19th century and is located next to the main village of Breitenbach through the wide diffusion sheet from their hamlet. History

Shortly before 800 AD Breitenbach has already been mentioned as Mensalpfarre for the monk's cell in Kufstein, the parish church of St. Peter is one of the oldest churches in the Tyrolean country. Breitenbach counts with Angath and Unterlangkampfen to the three Freising Urpfarren Tyrolean ground. Documented occurs Breitenbach relatively late, for the first time in 1157 as a parish of the panel Kanonikerstiftes St. Andrew on in Freising. The original boundaries of the pre-and mother parish Breitenbach include the areas of the parishes of fire, Steinberg, Mariatal, Voldöpp and Mosen ( Kramsach ), all of which are excreted until 1891 final of this Federation.

Coat of arms

By order of the Tyrolean provincial government of 23 July 1963, the Breitenbach was awarded today's coat of arms. Blazon (Coat of Arms description): " In the black box, a silver cross flow with an ascending to the right, interchanging colors, silver and black fish. The silver cross flow indicates the trickling through the village stream which by its abundance of fish in this ever determined the name of the town and of meaning. "

Economy

Originally Breitenbach was purely agricultural village which largely provided itself. What was needed, and was not available in the local area, was delivered by ship to the Inn. That it was also a place Schopper ( repair shop for Innschiffe ) in Breitenbach, proves is still the name " Schopper " economic. In the years around 1860, resulting on the south side of the Inn Railway caused a tremendous economic development, was initially excluded from the Breitenbach because of the lack of a bridge.
