Budišov

Budišov ( German Budischau ) is a Městys in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers north-west of Náměšť nad Oslavou and belongs to Okres Třebíč.

Geography

Budišov located to the right of the Oslava in Krischanauer Bergland ( Křižanovská Highlands ) in the south of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. To the east of the hill rises Kněžský Kopec ( Pfaff mountain, 507 m). Through the town, the railway line from Náměšť nad Oslavou leads to Velké Meziříčí.

Neighboring towns are Hodov in the north, Kundelov, Studnice and Klementice in the northeast, Rejdůveň, Kamenná and Mihoukovice in the east, Holeje and Pyšel the southeast, Doubrava, Spálený Dvůr and Kojatín in the south, Nárameč the southwest, Obora and Novy Dvur in the west and Rudíkov in northwest.

History

The first written mention of the town took place in 1104. At that time, was located south of the present Budišov the settlement Dobrutoys, which was the most northerly possession of the Benedictine monastery Třebíč. For the year 1115 there is again a mention of Dobrutoys or Dobrutowicz in the Chronica Boemorum, then went out the location on the territory of today's settlement Doubrava settlement.

To Budišov was founded in 1194 by Budiš Lomnice. In the same year, large parts of the town were destroyed by a great fire. 1854, the Czech name Budišov was introduced as the official place name. In 1900 lived in Budišov 1178 people belonging to almost all Czech folk group. 1930 consisted of 143 houses and Budišov had 706 inhabitants, were added yet in the districts Budišovský zámek ( Castle Budischau ) 90 inhabitants in 13 houses, 106 inhabitants in 23 houses Kundelov, Mihoukovice 105 inhabitants in 22 houses and 104 inhabitants in 21 houses Rejdůveň. 1947 a total of 1103 people lived in the village. Status as Městys was not renewed in 1948 and Budišov sank to the village. 1970 lived in 385 houses of the village 1213 people, including five Slovaks. 1980, the incorporation of Hodov, Kamenná, Nárameč, Rohy and Studnice. On 10 October 2006 Budišov was returned to the status of a Městys.

Attractions

  • Castle Budišov, 1721-1728 remodeled as mansion of Count couple baroque. The frescoes of the chapel of St. Anna was created by the Viennese painter Anton Joseph von Prenner. The chapel located in the portraits of the three children of the couple family come from Peter Johann Brandl. The seven murals of the palace chapel was created by Heinrich Friedrich Füger in 1780. The castle was passed in 1974 by the local National Committee of the Moravian Museum in Brno, which began with the renovation. It now serves as the Zoological Museum of the Moravian Museum.
