BWF World Junior Championships

Badminton Junior World Championships will be conducted in two annual basis since 1992. From 1987 to 1991 there was the Bimantara World Junior Championships Invitation, which have been held annually in Indonesia. As of 2007, this rhythm was also introduced in the official World Youth Championship. Is organized by the Badminton World Federation, the BWF. Meanwhile, the tournament is officially called Bimantara Cup. Since 2000, a team competition will be run.

The Junior World Championships are dominated by the Asian, particularly Chinese, young talent since the beginning. Only the Danes Jim Laugesen / Rikke Olsen (1992 ), Peter Gade / Peder Nissen ( 1994) and Viktor Axelsen (2010) was able to break into this phalanx.
