Cam Severson

Cameron Douglas Clifford Severson ( born August 15, 1978 in Canora, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player ( winger ), who played most recently at the Mississippi RiverKings in the Central Hockey League.

Career

Cam Severson played early in his career for several years in the Western Hockey League. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1997 by the San Jose Sharks in the eighth round as 192. He was in recent years regularly in the American Hockey League action, including for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and last for the Syracuse Crunch. The strong defensive center also played 37 times in the National Hockey League for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim or the Columbus Blue Jackets.

For the season 2006/ 07 he signed a one year contract with the Straubing Tigers, his first stop in Europe. In November 2007 Seversons contract with the Straubing Tigers was terminated prematurely, he then joined EHC Linz in the Austrian Hockey League. Between 2008 and 2009 he played the first former NHL player with CSA Steaua Bucharest in Romania, before returning to North America.

Severson operates in the summer with his wife, a hockey school in its North American homeland.
