Camelia Potec (2011)

Camelia Alina Potec ( born February 19, 1982 in Brăila ) is a Romanian swimmer and Olympic champion.

Career

Potec began at the age of eight years with the swimming. The passion for the water, she inherited his own words from her father, Ion Ionescu, a former sailor, who also trained. My home club is the Club Sportiv Municipal Braila.

At the Olympic Summer Games 2000 in Sydney Potec penetrated into the final of the 200m freestyle before and came there at the end of 7th place with the Romanian 4x200 m freestyle relay, she won the fourth place behind the U.S., Australia and Germany. This year she was also second overall in the star-studded Mare Nostrum meeting series.
