Caracas FC

Caracas Fútbol Club, usually abbreviated as Caracas FC or just Caracas, is a Venezuelan football club from the capital Caracas.

Nicknamed Los Rojos del Avila ( The Reds from Ávila) they owe their red jerseys and the Cerro de Ávila, the highest mountain in Caracas.

History

Until the 1980s, the team played, then under the Yamaha name, in various amateur championships. After the club had renamed Caracas - Yamaha in 1984, he reached the recording to the second division of Venezuela. Surprisingly, the team immediately went in 1985 to the first division, in which she plays since then. The club has now been renamed Caracas Fútbol Club.

1986 Yamaha announced its interest in the club with Radio Caracas Televisión ( a private TV channel from Caracas ). 1988 won the FC Caracas Venezuelan Association Cup.

Radio Caracas Televisión broke up in 1989 by its shares on the Caracas FC. The club then fell into a financial crisis. Dr. Guillermo Valentiner, a German-born pharmaceutical entrepreneur ( Vargas SA) and President of the Organización Deportiva Cocodrilos, subsequently bought on 4 October 1989 FC Caracas. Cocodrilos de Caracas is one of the most successful basketball clubs in the country. Since then, the football team FC Caracas became one of the most successful in the country. After Germany's success in the football World Cup in 1990, the new club chairman in 1991 developed a plan to lead his club with German players to succeed and committed formerly, among others in the GDR Oberliga active player and the Bundesliga striker Günter Thiele. The club played until 2005 Brígido - Iriarte Stadium. Since then, he has its own stadium, the Cocodrilos Sports Park.
