Christiane Scrivener

Christine Scrivener ( born September 1, 1925 in Mulhouse) is a French politician. She was from 1989 to 1995, EU Commissioner.

From 1976 to 1978 she was responsible for the protection of consumers in the government of Jacques Chirac and Raymond Barre. In this role, she led several legislative changes, including the fact, to protect the information from consumers about products and services, the loi sur la protection et l'information des consommateurs de produits et de services (Law on the protection of consumer advice of products and services), known as loi Scrivener.

She was from 1979 to 1984 Member of the European Parliament.

In 1989 she was European Commissioner for Taxation and Customs Union. The resort Customs Union she retained until 1993, Tax Commissioner she remained until 1995.
