Christopher Tugendhat, Baron Tugendhat

Christopher Samuel Tugendhat, Baron Tugendhat (* October 15, 1937 in London ) is a British Conservative politician.

Life and Politics

His father was born in Vienna, but emigrated to the first world war to England to work on his doctorate at the LSE on. Christopher Samuel Tugendhat was educated as Roman Catholics.

1955 to 1957 he served in the British Army. Then he studied from 1957 to 1960 in Cambridge and then became a member of the Financial Times, for which he wrote editorials.

In 1970 he became a member of the British Parliament for London and Westminster, this he remained until 1977. He was from 1977 European Commissioner for Budget, financial control and financial institutions, in 1981 the department was added taxes. In 1985 he gave the resort taxes to the British Francis Cockfield and the departmental budget and finance at the Dane Henning Christophersen.

In 1991 he was knighted and was now life peer Baron Tugendhat.

He was chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Great Britain, until he succeeded Christopher Chataway.
