Clare Wood

Clare Jacqueline Wood ( born March 8, 1968 in Zululand, Natal, South Africa) is a former British tennis player.

Biography

Clare Wood began her professional tennis career in 1984, during which she was an ITF, and win a WTA and ITF six doubles title in singles. In May 1994, it reached number 77 in the tennis world ranking their best ranking in singles, in October 1996 with number 59 its best ranking in doubles. She was also temporarily the number 1 in the British women's tennis. In Fed Cup Wood took part in 36 matches, and won 34 of their 52 games. She ended her active career in 1998.

After her career as a player to Wood continued to use for their sport. From 1999 to 2002 she was a supervisor tournament on the WTA Tour, and then assistant referee at Wimbledon, where she further held responsible for the qualification and youth competitions. She also was an assistant referee at the Olympic tennis competition 2004. Clare Wood led numerous Fed Cup matches, including the finals in 2005. It is at the 2012 Olympic Games Competition Manager in tennis competition.
