Copparo

Copparo is a small town with 16 943 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Ferrara in the Emilia- Romagna region of northern Italy.

Geographical location

The town is located 20 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Ferrara. Nearby towns include Rovigo in the north, Codigoro the southeast and Porto Maggiore in the south.

History

The place was already mentioned in a document of 870 AD. The city has long dispute between the churches of Ferrara and Ravenna.
